SUNDAY SERENADES
Join us for our Sunday Serenades - a series of curated recitals featuring celebrated artists performing a wide range of works recorded in state-of-the-art venues around the globe. The series begins with a program that brings together two acclaimed baroque artists familiar to Opera Lafayette, mezzo-soprano Caitlin Hulcup and lutenist Thomas Dunford, in a program devoted to Henry Purcell. Next we’ll present the return of bass-baritone and composer Jonathan Woody and the debut of countertenor Reginald Mobley performing 17th-century Italian repertoire, and featuring Nigra Sum Sed Formosa: A Fantasia on Microaggressions – a new work which combines a contemporary topic with the aesthetics of a renaissance motet. Our final recital of the season will come from the Great Hall of the Konzerthaus Berlin with Stephanie Houtzeel, Laetitia Grimaldi, Ammiel Bushakevitz, with Charles Brink showcasing French Baroque and its influence on Romanticism in France.
You can marvel at these performances from two different viewing experiences:
1.) A live, opening performance Sunday matinee (2:00 p.m. ET) that will feature an interactive discussion with the artist(s) following the recital.
2.) An on-demand viewing at one’s leisure for a limited time, sans artist discussion.
$15/recital or a package for $40/all three recitals
